    HONORING with a final salute

Our own local hero born and raised in Military City, USA, is BU2 Antonio Amesquita Jr. (planning & estimator) a combat veteran that was serving with NMCB-14 where he loss (7) seabee brothers from the get-go and one of them was his best friend BU2 Micheal Anderson. The other six were: SW2 (SW) Jason Dwelley, EO3 Chrisopher Dickerson, EO2 Trace Dossett, CM2 Scott Mchugh, BU3Robert Jenkins and SW3 Ronald Ginther. Countless others were also injured and all of them recipients of the Purple Heart. His long journey from Jacksonville Florida back home took about 6 years as he was moving from one DOD location to the next always trying to make it back home to his son, and family. Once home, he joined the VFW Honor Guard at post 76, and the Military Service Detachment (MSD) AT FT. SAN HOUSTON CEMETERY, and served for three years giving the ultimate salute and grieved for his loss. He has gone on to becoming a Quartermaster of a VFW post and then a co-founder of the newest VFW post 12171 in San Antonio Texas. Today he is in college with a dual degree in social psychology and architecture. Leading by example and if you can join any of these two organizations, to giving a final salute to our fallen brothers and sisters here in Military City, USA. It’s all about giving back so BZ to our own and welcome back home brother.
